Welcome to The Ontario Sporting Dog Assoc. Lost and Found.  A free service, we hope will help reunite you with your favorite hunting companion. Browse this site occasionally to familiarize yourself with sporting dogs that have gone missing (lost or stolen). You may be able to help a hunter recover his favorite companion.  A suggestion from OSDA is that you could take digital photos (or have a friend take them) of your entire kennel and save them to a CD. Then if your sporting dog went missing, you'd have the photo as some form of identification, and to use on a site such as this.

Just wondering if anyone has lost this dog.  We call him Duke.  He is approx 2-3 years, (vets best guess)., male

I THINK he was found around beginning of January in the Kingston area.  Sure would like to find his owner.  He is a lovely dog.

May 1/06 Update!   Never Give Up!

After 5 months we retrieved our hound this evening. The tatoos in his ears were the key. He was dropped off on Finch road near Combermere , the road leads to Diamond Lake. Dead end road off HWY 515.  A senior couple at their cottage located the hound, they also observed a couple out exploring a  bush trail. They were driving a pick up truck with some features that might identify the people.
The couple did not communicate to the elderly couple out for a walk.  The dog showed up soon there after. The cottage has no power and no phone.
A mother and daughter team then  relayed the message to the local SPCA, my hound is still on their website. They were very quick to phone us.

Koady still has my collar on him with the name plate removed.  He is a little rough , dirty and his toe nails are a little long.
It will take us a month or two to get the shine back in his coat and eyes.

One lady from Palmer Rapids who  has a hound dog also and was as thrilled as we were at getting our stolen hound back.  She had the knowledge to look in the hounds ears. She has a Catahoula Leopard dog her husband uses for hunting, and it is a family pet socialized with small kids.

Thank you to all who helped spread the word.
